At Edinboro University, Scott Rench began experimenting with putting images on clay. A torn piece of silkscreen fabric sparked an idea: “What if I could screen print glazes directly onto clay?” After trial and error, he developed a process few people were exploring at the time.

UK artist Paul Scott discovered Scott’s work in an AMACO Ceramics ad and helped bring it to the international stage. Together, they helped grow a movement that reshaped ceramics.

Over time, books and workshops helped bring these techniques into studios around the world. Scott’s work has been shown with artists like Picasso, Cindy Sherman, and Roy Lichtenstein at institutions such as the Royal Academy and Art Basel.
