Red isn’t just a color—it’s a declaration. For centuries, it’s been charged with meaning, power, and, let’s be honest, a little bit of drama. In ancient times, red was for the kings, the emperors, and anyone with enough clout to flaunt it. The rare dyes needed to create red were worth their weight in gold—literally.
But here’s the twist: while it adorned the robes of the elite, red was also the color of rebellion, worn subtly by those who couldn’t speak their truth aloud. It’s the hue of passion, danger, sin, and celebration, all wrapped up in one fiery package. Even today, red walks the fine line between authority and defiance. Whether it’s the stop sign you can’t ignore or the lipstick that turns heads, red doesn’t ask for attention—it commands it.

Created for the "RED" exhibition, this piece dives headfirst into the charged symbolism of the forbidden fruit from the story of Adam and Eve. Red—a color tied to power, temptation, and transgression—sets the stage for a bold clash of traditional and modern elements.
At its core, an ornate ceramic body, glazed to perfection, exudes a regal, almost ancient authority. But the twist? Three LED displays scroll a stark and hypnotic warning: "DO NOT EAT OF THIS TREE OR YOU WILL DIE." Each screen moves at its own pace, almost like a ticker, drawing you in with the relentless pull of temptation.
This work asks the timeless question: how do we navigate the tug-of-war between obedience and rebellion? By merging the tactile elegance of ceramics with the cool glow of technology, it challenges viewers to consider their own forbidden desires—and how they play out in our hyper-digital world.
