The Original Donut Shop Coffee, a Keurig K-Cup pod brand that has been around for over a decade, decided it was finally time to join the Twitterverse. They approached us for help with their first tweet, wanting to make a memorable splash in the social media world. We brainstormed and came up with a brilliant idea to launch their account in a way that felt authentic to their target audience. We decided to playfully pretend that a mysterious technical snafu had clogged hundreds of tweets since the brand's inception, and on Twitter's 15th birthday, we manually Tweeted every 2 minutes, following Twitters historical timeline to simulate the feel of an actual glitch. The response was phenomenal, gaining 82.4K organic impressions, 2.2K engagements, 54.3K profile visits, and even securing the #1 search ranking for "coffee" above Dunkin' and tons of new followers, including rapper jarule. It was a historic moment for the brand, and all of this was achieved without spending dime on media.
